☆ We Built A TARDIS ☆

“The librarians have the phone box!” Wait. WHAT? Yes, we have a TARDIS in our lobby! Our TARDIS isn’t just a refurbished “dimensionally transcendental” filing cabinet, it’s also an Awesome Box. The Awesome Box is a way for you to anonymously share books, CDs, and DVDs that you enjoyed with other patrons. Just put your awesome item in our TARDIS-shaped Awesome Box when you are ready to return it.

If your awesome item is overdue, please have a librarian check the book in before you place it in our TARDIS so you do not continue to accrue fines. Please return less awesome items to the regular book drops.

You can see what’s “Recently Awesome” by visiting the Bristol Public Library System’s Awesome page at bristollibct.awesomebox.io, clicking on the Awesome Box tab on bristollib.com, or following @BristolLibCT on Twitter. If you see something awesome that you want to borrow, click on the item and you will be taken to its record in the catalog. From there you can read more about the item or place it on hold.

Bristol Public Library System’s Awesome Box is inspired by, and presented in collaboration with, the Harvard Library Innovation Lab. For more about the Awesome Box program, visit awesomebox.io.

It’s going to be an AWESOME summer.

(As for WHY our Awesome Box looks like a TARDIS … well, the librarians who decide these things really like Doctor Who!)
