Friends of the Library Holiday Mini-Book Sale Begins December 1st. at Both Bristol Libraries

2014 Holiday Mini Book Sale The Friends of the Bristol Public Library will hold a Holiday Mini-Sale beginning on Monday, December 1st in the lobbies of the Bristol Public Library and the Manross Memorial Library. Nearly new books for readers of all ages, movies and CDs, including many holiday-themed and gift-quality items, will be available for purchase at reasonable prices whenever the libraries are open. The sale will allow shoppers to stock up on winter reading material as well as holiday gifts, and the proceeds will help fund reading programs for children, young adults, and adults at both Bristol libraries.

BPL, the Friends & the Memorial Military Museum Collaborate to Tell the Story of Bristol Soldiers in WW I

On Monday, August 4, at 1:00 PM, The Bristol Public Library & the Memorial Military Museum will co-sponsor a program entitled: “Bristol Boys in WW I: The Yankee Division & the Battle of Seicheprey.”  The evening will be hosted by Bristol Press Columnist & City Historian, Bob Montgomery and will tell the story of the Bristol soldiers during the first encounter of American and German troops in the First world War.  There will also a presentation and exhibit of original artifacts from the battle and the First World War courtesy of the Memorial Military Museum. The program will be held at Bristol Public Library, 5 High Street, in Bristol, CT.  There is no charge  for this program.  Please register at the library or call; (860) 584-7787 x 2023.  Made possible in part by a grant  from the Friends of Bristol Public Library.

Libraries Closed Memorial Day Weekend

The Bristol Public Library & the Manross Memorial Library will be closed Saturday May 24, Sunday May, 25 & Monday May 26, 2014 in observance of Memorial Day.  The Bristol Public Library will re-open on Tuesday, May 27 at 8:30 AM and the  Manross Memorial Library will re-open Tuesday, May 27 at 10:00 AM.

Soup & Movie Social at Manross Library
