Due to changes at the Connecticut State Library, the Bristol Public Library System will suspend inter-library loan services through the statewide ReQuest network beginning May 16 until a new state-wide system is in place in the autumn.
How will this affect you? If an item you desire is not available through our consortium, Library Connection, we will not be able to get it for you until the new state-wide system is in place. However, as Library Connection comprises 30 libraries, the majority of item requests placed are readily filled and very few patrons will be affected.
Remember, as long as the Connecticard program remains funded, your Bristol library card is valid at any public library in the state and you are welcome to visit libraries outside our consortium to borrow their items directly from them.
Due to the impending snowstorm, the Bristol Public Library System will close at 5 pm today and not reopen until Wednesday, January 27. Our catalog, databases, and downloadables remain accessible through bristollib.com.
Falling is here! Getting ready to fire up your leaf blower or chainsaw or – if you’re more the pessimistic type – your snow blower? No matter what sort of small engine you’re ready to use, it might need a little tune-up. In that case, the Small Engine Repair Reference Center, available online through our website, is at your service!
Simply go to bristollib.com, click on “Public Services,” and then “Research & Information.” From there, click on Small Engine Repair Reference Center and choose your engine. You’ll need your valid Bristol Library card to access the site, but it’s 100% free of charge.
