It’s a red letter day! We know some of you have been waiting for this — ALL DVDs can now be placed on hold from our catalog at bristollib.com.
As we are a reciprocating library, this means you can also now place holds on DVDs at other libraries in our consortium and they will be shipped to Bristol — just as if they were a book, magazine, or CD! (Admittedly, some libraries may still refuse to send newer or in-demand items).
The check out period for DVDs remains 7 days for entertainment films and 14 days for documentary-type films. You may only have 6 DVDs checked out at a time (including 2 “new” DVDs).
As with all other library materials, you will not be able to renew a DVD checked out to you if someone has placed it on hold.

Due to snow, the Bristol Public Library System will close a 4 pm. Our catalog and databases remain accessible through bristollib.com.
Both the Main Library and the F.N. Manross Memorial Library will observe the following holiday hours:
Tuesday, December 24: close at noon
Wednesday, December 25: closed all day
Thursday, December 26 through Monday, December 30: open normal hours
Tuesday, December 31: close at noon
Wednesday, January 1: closed all day
Thursday, January 2: back to normal hours
Bristol Public Library and its branch, F.N. Manross Memorial, will be closed Monday, October 14, to celebrate Columbus Day. The Library and its branch will resume normal hours on Tuesday, October 15.
While we’re closed, you may still drop off items in our book drops or use the library catalogs to place holds, check your library card, or renew items. The library’s databases will also remain accessible with your library card while we’re closed. These resources can be accessed through our website bristollib.com.
