Saturday Hours Announced for this Fall in the Bristol History Room

In addition to its regular hours, the Bristol Public Library’s local history room will be open from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. on the following Saturdays:

September 17

October 15

November 12

December 10

Visitors will have a chance to win a free gift.  On permanent display in the Bristol History Room are nearly a hundred historic images including an entire wall devoted to Lake Compounce. There are exhibits of locally made clocks, New Departure bells and Civil War photographs.  Our collection includes: books, pictures and postcards, city directories, yearbooks, maps, diaries, church and assessor’s records, newspapers on microfilm, cemetery, birth, death and marriage indexes.


Manross Summer Send-Off August 30th!

Join us for a picnic-themed get-together complete with live music! Sean and Deirdre Murtha, the duo which is Strange Potatoes, will present a concert that is sure to please. From lively rhythms to plaintive melodies, from touching ballads to infectious sing-alongs, the duo is known for singing rich harmonies and playing a wide range of instruments, including fiddle, banjo, guitar, harmonica, autoharp, mandolin, dulcimer, and a variety of percussive instruments.
