Hurricane Closure

The Bristol Public Library System will close today, October 29, at noon due to Hurricane Sandy. We expect to reopen for normal business hours tomorrow (8:30 for Bristol Main and 10 for Manross).

While we’re closed, you may still use the library catalogs to place holds, check your library card, or renew items. The library’s databases, downloadable audiobooks, and eBooks will also remain accessible with your library card while we’re closed. The library catalog and databases can be accessed through our website bristollib.com.

Emergency Shelter Open @ Chippens Hill Middle School

The Bristol Storm Shelter at Chippens Hill Middle School on Peacedale Road will open today at noon. Please bring necessary medications, toiletries, a pillow, reading materials, etc. There will be cell phone charging capabilities. Pets are allowed but must be crated and necessary food and/’or medications should be brought with you.

Due to ongoing construction, Beals Senior-Community Center on Stafford Avenue is not a designated shelter.
