We’re pleased to announce we have expanded our current online research and services collection with the recent addition of Recorded Books’ Signing Savvy, Transparent Languages Online, and Universal Class! These services are now available to card-holding Bristol residents through the library’s website.  (Some of you may remember Universal Class from the public trial we held in January).

Other features include sign descriptions, memory aids, full screen videos, printable signs, flash cards and quizzes, word list sharing, a phrase builder, social networking, and a mobile app.

Transparent Languages Online gives web access to learn more than eighty different languages. This program uses a guided learning experience to give a good start to each learner and exposes learners to the language through classic learning exercises, games, and cultural and social connections.

Universal Class offers over five hundred online continuing education courses taught by real instructors with continuous remote access allowing learners to study on their own schedule. Assignments are graded by certified instructors. Feedback and discussion with other students and instructors is conducted via email or chat.
